Live polls & word clouds for WordPress
Run the room from your own website.
KNEKT Engage turns any WordPress site into a live audience response system. You put a question on the projector, the room answers from their phones, and the word cloud builds in front of them. Every answer lands in your own database, and is still there when you want the results a fortnight later.
- Pay once. No subscription, ever.
- Unlimited sessions and unlimited attendees.
- Nothing leaves your site. No third-party service.

What it is
One plugin. The whole engagement toolkit.
KNEKT Engage installs like any other WordPress plugin. Create a session and you get three links: one for the room's phones, one for the projector, one for you. No page to build, no shortcode to place, no template to pick. Put the QR code up and the room is in.
There is no cloud service behind it. Every question, every answer and every attendee name is written to custom tables in your own WordPress database and served by your own install. If your site is up, KNEKT Engage is up.
No third-party service
Your data never leaves your hosting. Useful when legal ask.
No monthly bill
One payment. Use it for every event you run, forever.
Runs on shared hosting
Standard PHP and MySQL. No WebSockets, no special server setup.
No app for attendees
Scan, type, done. Works in any phone browser.
How it works
Four steps, about five minutes.
-
Step 01
Build the session
Add every question before the day: word cloud, multiple choice or rating. Edit them inline as you go. The plugin generates a six-character join code.
-
Step 02
Put the screen up
Open the display link on the projector. It shows the QR code, the session name and a waiting message until you're ready.
-
Step 03
The room joins
Attendees point a camera at the QR code and type a first name. The counter on the display screen climbs as each one registers.
-
Step 04
Run it, question by question
Activate question one and it appears on every phone at once. Activate question two and the first closes itself. End the session when you're done.
Screens
See it working.
Four screens from one session. Every one is a mock-up filled with invented data from a fictional company all-hands.
What your audience sees when they scan
The QR code opens a single page built for a phone. They type a first name, and from then on they answer whatever you put in front of them. Nothing to download, nothing to sign up for.
- Join with a first name, no account needed
- The active poll appears automatically
- One response per person, per poll
Product All-Hands: Q3
Please enter your first name to join the session.

Question
How confident are you in the Q3 plan?
Your control panel
One question is live at a time and you decide when. Activating the next one closes the last automatically, so nobody is answering yesterday's question while you've moved on.
- Activate and deactivate any question
- Show or hide results from the room
- End the session from one button
| Question | Type | Status |
|---|---|---|
| In one word, what should we fix first? | Word cloud | Live nowDeactivate |
| How confident are you in the Q3 plan? | Multiple choice | Activate |
| Rate today's session | Rating 1–5 | Activate |
| Which office are you dialling in from? | Multiple choice | Closed |
Three ways to ask
Word cloud for open text, multiple choice for a straight vote, rating scale for a temperature check. Results climb as the answers land, or stay hidden until you're ready to reveal them.
- Open text gathers into a live word cloud
- Multiple choice fills a bar chart
- Ratings show a running average
187 of 214 voted
Still there next week
Most of the value of an event arrives after it. Every session keeps a Results tab with the full picture for each question, plus a line-by-line record of who answered what and when.
- Sorted frequency table for open text
- Percentages for choices, averages for ratings
- Individual responses with names and times
In one word, what should we fix first?

| onboarding | 47 | 25% |

Everything included
No tiers. No add-ons. No upsell.
Word cloud questions
Open text answers gather into a cloud that grows as words repeat.
Multiple choice
A live bar chart with percentages, filling as the room votes.
Rating scales
1–5 or 1–10, with a running average and the spread of scores.
Display screen
A clean projector view: QR code while you wait, results once you start.
QR joining
Generated on your server. No external QR service is ever called.
Join codes
Every session gets its own six-character code and a shareable link.
Moderator controls
Activate one question at a time, show or hide results, end the session.
Live participant count
The counter climbs the moment someone registers, before any answers arrive.
Results tab
The full picture for every question, available during and long after the event.
Individual responses
Who answered what, and at what time, in an expandable table.
Duplicate session
Reuse a question set with a new audience. Fresh draft, new code, old results untouched.
Inline editing
Change any question from the session page without losing your place.
Your logo
Sits in the header of the display screen and your moderator view, with an optional click-through.
Sponsor logo
Sits beside the QR code and on the attendee page, with its own name and link.
Moderator access
Hand the moderator link to someone without giving them admin rights.
Welcome message
Write what the room reads on the join screen instead of the default.
Who it's for
Built for anyone who has to stand in front of a room.
Conference & event organisers
Four hundred people, one projector, and a room that answers from their phones. Put a sponsor's logo beside the QR code and the screen earns its keep.
Trainers & lecturers
Check understanding mid-session with a ten-second poll, rather than asking "any questions?" into silence.
Internal comms & all-hands
Ask the room what they think and leave with a table of answers rather than an impression of the mood.
Membership sites & webinars
Send members straight to a session link from your stream page, all on your own domain.
Schools, colleges & unions
Nothing is sent to an outside service, which makes the data conversation a short one.
Agencies & freelancers
Set a client's branding once, then duplicate the session for every repeat event. No recurring cost to pass on.
Why buy instead of subscribe
The maths stops being annoying after the second event.

Questions
Before you buy
Do attendees need an account or an app?
No account, and no app. They scan the QR code, the session opens in their phone browser, and they enter a first name to join. Responses are kept to one per person using a browser fingerprint and a session cookie. No login and no password involved.
My host blocks the REST API. Will it still work?
Yes. The plugin polls the REST API by default and falls back to admin-ajax automatically when REST is unavailable.
Can I reuse a set of questions?
Yes. Duplicate any session and you get a fresh draft with the same questions and the same branding, under a new join code. The original session and all its results are left untouched.
Can I get the results after the event?
Every session keeps a Results tab that stays available once the session has ended: a sorted frequency table for open text, percentages for multiple choice, averages for ratings, and a table of individual responses with names and times.
Will it match my site's design?
Every session has its own branding tab. Your organisation logo sits in the header of the display screen and the moderator view. A sponsor logo, with its own name label and link, appears on the attendee page and beside the QR code on the projector. You can also replace the join screen's welcome message with something written for the event.
How much traffic can it handle?
That depends on your hosting rather than the plugin. Polling is lightweight and the interval is adjustable in settings, so you can slow it down for very large rooms on modest hosting.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Nothing is deleted unless you have ticked the removal option in settings first. It is off by default, so an accidental deactivation can never wipe a session history.
What happens after the first year?
You keep the plugin and carry on using it exactly as before. The licence does not expire and there is nothing to renew. What ends after twelve months is the included bug-fix support, not your access to the software.
Is anything sent to an external service?
No. QR codes are generated on your server by a bundled library, and there are no outbound API calls of any kind.
You're going to ask the room something anyway.
It may as well be on your own website.
